  • The spell checker isn’t working at the moment. We’ll fix it in the next day or so
  • We want to update the view message screen with some more options for moving between messages. We’ve got a few ideas but want to get some feedback from users. Have a look at this and email the webmaster with which you prefer. Please use the subject “View message suggestions”. If you’ve got an even better idea, we’d love to hear about that too.

  • We now have a dedicated forum to discuss fastmail.fm with other users and with the developers, which you can access by clicking here. We do not have moderator access on that forum, so you can be sure that anything you read there is objective and uncensored. Many thanks to Edwin of emailaddresses.com for this great initiative.
  • We have run a competition at the forum mentioned above to suggest new domain names. As a result there are two new domain names you can use for your address: ‘@fastem.com’ and ‘@f-m.fm’. You don’t have to have to do anything to activate these addresses–try sending yourself a message now a ‘yourname@fastem.com’ and you will see it arrive in your inbox!

  • Enhancement: We’ve got a great new short domain name you can use instead of @fastmail.fm: “@eml.cc”. We hope you like it! This is in addition to the existing domain names that we have (myfastmail.com, speedymail.org, and fastemailer.com).

  • Security: Numerous improvements to security and robustness, including: Every 15 minutes a script now tests web login, sending, receiving, IMAP, disk space, and mail queue and pages 2 FastMail engineers if any check fails or displays unexpected results; Rate of received and sent messages per user are tracked and potential spam problems cause relevent accounts to be disabled and FastMail staff notified; Signups tracked–potential abuse by signing up too many accounts for one person now tracked and dealt with; quotas added of 100MB per user–anyone using over 50% of quota is notified automatically. These changes should lead to improved service through avoiding abuse of the system.
